I am comtemplating taking a job in Orlando. I want to live near the water. Where would you recommend and how long of a commute. The job is near the airport.

orlando is not near "the water"--plus I hear it is hell getting around there----

Yes, I know. 44 miles to Titusville and 47 to Cocoa Beach. I know what traffic is like, looking for maybe something in the middle.

You might try the lakeland area---it's about 30 miles from Orland and 30 miles from Tampa (water!!)

Wasn't trying to discourage you from Orlando--just being frank regarding the driving conditions there.....

Thanks Capt. Chuck! My wifes Dad lives in Port Orange and so does our oldest daughter. When Moma is happy, everyone is happy so you know the deal. Tampa is corporate HQ and the job is in Orlando. I figured I could kill 2 birds with one stone by living on the east coast. My goal is to semi retire and enjoy life out of the Washington/Baltimore area.
