We are having a new boat lift put in and the cost is coming out to be around $10K with removal of old lift and installation of new lift and poles. It's a 10K# lift...we are not experienced with what lifts typically cost and I was wondering if this price is a little high?

Is the old lift any good? Rusted out or just too small? If it is any good would you sell it or let some one remove it for parts?
The old lift is still good just too small for the new boat. The motors are less than a year old, the cables and carriage are a little older but are still good. Not sure what we are doing with the old lift yet, as of this weekend the idea of keeping it and adding the new lift on the otherside of the pier has been kicked around. But if we decide not to do that, selling it would be ideal.
