Hello,

I've been lurking for some time, mostly on the Virginia Angler board. Thanks to everyone for the great information. I fish out of a canoe with a motor in freshwater and sheltered saltwater spots. I mostly fish for flounder, rockfish, and largemouth bass.

Tried to catch some yellow perch at Walkers Dam on the Chickahominy yesterday. No bites. Tried small minnows on the bottom and Silver Buddies. There was 2 other boats out there fishing hard, didn't see them catching anything either. Maybe a little early with this cold weather. Going to try it again in a couple weeks.

The perch are there its just the moon phase the is the issue,,,
I've kept records for 25 years on the occaquan river up in the Potomac, Starting in Feb ... The Full moon phase is a shutdown according to what i've kept and the best moons are
Waning Gibbous , last 1/4 and the Waning Cresent ,,, the last phases after the full..

By this weekend and into next will be a great time to try again,,, it still pretty full up there so No sure if anything will be different if you go tommorrow ,,, But you can't catch them from home..

So Good Luck ,, I'll be trying This Sunday
