Chico (Ronnie Larkin), David Thompson and crew caught some nice wreckfish this past weekend at the Norfolk Cayon. The 2 biggest were 20.5 and 18.5.

They are not grouper. They are WRECKFISH. Still a pretty catch though.

Yea Wreckfish. They eat like groupers but are smaller.

I have never eaten wreckfish that I know of. Do they taste like grouper? To me, a grouper is one of the best tasteing fish there is. We used to get them in the Keys 40 years ago. They were very close to camp too(500-600 yards).

Others may disagree but I've eaten both and wreckfish taste exactly the same as snowy groupers.

The ones I've eaten were AWESOME. I'm not a huge fan of dropping down to 600ft but if I can find some of those wreckfish this Summer quickly, I will be getting some!!

The taste is very close to a Snowie but the meat is a little firmer; They are EXCELLENT Eating!
