Plan was to head out the Wicomico towards 72-A on Sunday. Got calls on Saturday from my crew, nobody can make it for Sunday. Oh well, I will head out by myself, get my bite early and be back in time for my wifes company Christmas party. WX did not look great, but still gonna give it a shot. Left the dock @ 5:00am for the long trip out from the head of the Wicomico. Hour later came accros Tangier Sound to solid 3-4 footers. Nasty stuff. Got through that and into Hooper Straights. With Bloodsworth blocking the stiff southerly things were looking up. Got out of the Straights and got smacked in the mouth again. Oh well, I am here now might as well make the best of it. Set the auto pilot so I can get my lines out. Next thing I know I am doing circles. Great, no auto pilot and I am all by myself. Did manage to get 6 lines out without falling out of the boat. Had two short bites, and decided to call it a day. Wasnt a banner day, but at least I got out there.

Tough fishing alone without auto pilot. Hope it is an easy fix.

Mine sometimes acts up in rough water. The flux compass gets bounced and will "stick". It only takes a very gentle tap by hand to free it  - seems to only happen in colder weather.
