We fished the norfolk canyon looking to get a white marlin bite, fishing was slow. There were a few tuna's caught on Friday and one Big Eye boated on early Saturday that we heard of. The sharks are out of control, tunas that are being hooked are being lost to the sharks. There were some scattered Mahi bites, did hear some blue marlins caught down around the cigar.

Marlin season is almost here, if your not pulling a dredges you should check it out. Many tuna fisherman are also pulling dredges and improving their chances of a tuna bite.

Our experience reinforces that these are Dusky sharks. In fact, while trolling in the Washington Canyon yesterday, we hooked a dusky shark on a green spreader bar up close to the boat. At boat side, we estimated this shark at 250 pounds. Once we ID'd the fish, we were amazed and very disappointed, not to mention he made a mess of our spreader bar.
