VDG&IF says that Burk Lake and the Occoquan Reservior are very good for large mouth. I have had better luck at Occoquan. The tidal Potomac is, also, good. Almost all local water will have LMB. For smallmouth, all our rivers above the fall line are good. The Rap, the Potomac and the Shenadoah (which had a recent kill of larger bass) should work fine. Wet wading these rivers during the warmer months can be great sport. While I have never gone to one of their meetings, I understand that there is a Potomac River Smallmouth club in Northern Va. that might be a great source of info.
