I'm getting mighty edgy up here in Maine and looking for some advice that might set me free (though not asking for any special secrets). I've heard that the warm water outlet at Calvert Cliffs is a year round gathering place. Can anyone tell me the general location of those outlets?

Hey Hammer Time. Thanks. Unfortunately, I've got only a small boat up near Bath and don't dare venture out from Portland. Last summer there wasn't a striper to be found up my way, though some blues were running. But if you've got waders there's good fishing to be had out at Popham Beach and other locations. Otherwise, find a charter guy who can take you out on the flats down near Portland. The only winter fishing I've been able to do is down your way. CBBT last week was mighty sweet.

Peter,

Typically Calvert Cliffs fishing gets consistant in late Feb/early Mar. Every year is different...no calender will tell you exactly when. I live very close and start checking for fish in mid feb. Once good numbers show up it typically stays consistant for quite a long time. Give me a call sometime if you'd like more detailed info. Take care.....
