Statement as of 5:50 PM EST on February 16, 2007

... Water levels will remain below normal tonight through the
weekend...

Westerly winds will persist across Chesapeake Bay and the mid
Atlantic coastal waters tonight through Saturday. This will
continue to limit the amount of water coming into Chesapeake Bay
and toward the mid Atlantic coast... which will result in tidal
departures between 1 and 1.5 feet below normal. In addition... due
to the astronomical tidal phase with the new moon on Saturday...
the water level departures below normal are expected to be
greatest... closer to 1.5 feet... around the times of low tide.

The next low tide at Ocean City will be at 1238 am EDT Saturday...
with the expected water level near to -2.0 feet mean lower low water.

The next low tide at Sewells Point will be at 223 am EDT Saturday...
with the expected water level near -1.5 feet mean lower low water.

The next low tide at Virginia Beach will be at 1254 am EDT
Saturday... with the expected water level near -2.0 feet mean lower
low water.

Abnormally low tides... often times referred to as blowout tides...
are a hazard to navigation especially for the larger SHIPS traveling
up and down the river.

Just to keep everyone whos going out this weekend informed:D . Tight lines to all, and watch the depths around low tide. Especially those launching and pulling their boat. Mark.
