I was raised in Upstate New York and enjoyed driving in the snow & ice, but it was part of our training in our Driver's Education Programs. Of course if it was too bad, everyone stayed home.

Here in Virginia, the Driver's Tests (written & road test) at VA DMV are a joke and folks can't even drive in the rain!

We got about 5 inches of snow here in va beach in 2003 on a sunday night on into monday morning. I went out for a couple of drinks playing in the snow with the f150 and went to work the next day to chesapeake. From withduck off the 264 to battlefield blvd looked like something you would see on a movie. i must have counted 60 wrecks that day at 7am. I wish to this day i had a video camera. It was nothing more than light snow. That big crash up in New Hampshire was from an ice storm on top of snow. I'm from ny as well where it snows all the time, its the safest time to drink and drive if you know how too.

kevin, you northener! born & raised in n.h. rarely do you see a pile up like that up there. snow is like sunshine down here. except you slap on skis. anybody ski down military hwy back in 1980? i did!

Lived for many years in northern Vermont, about 70 miles from Montreal. I miss the smallmouth bass but not the long winters with snow measured by the foot. Saw a minus 28F on the thermometer once.

I'll visit in the summer (which lasts for a few weeks!)

I hear ya brother, The older I get , the farther south I wanna live, I saw a show yesterday on Walkers Cay that was devistaed by the hurricane in 05, maybe we could get a good deal on the marina, it still looks bad. or settle for the Fla keys

hell I love snow. Ill take these winters in Nebraska any day over that 40 degrees and raining **** back in VA...thats just miserable. Driving in the snow isnt too hard either, its just the fact that we let any idiot get behind the wheel of a vehicle without having a clue how to SLOW DOWN!!! Virginia is a VERY scary place to drive when there is any form of precip coming down..especially those few times when snow hits the ground.

I am going skiing in a couple of weeks and I think I'll be sure to weay SUSPENDERS after seeing that photo.

I would love a good snow!! I am one of a very few that owns snowplows here in tidewater. We don't use them often but when we do every snowflake looks like a hundred dollar bill! One like 1980 would be fine with me!!!!!

Now you've gone and done it!!! We're jinxed now and probably get dumped on!!! Oh well, great excuse to stay home!!

Living in Smithfield I've seen the roads snow covered and icy out here and only rain in VB and Norfolk. It makes it hard to convince folks that the roads were really too treacherous to drive. Two years ago (?) the day after Christmas we had 15" on the ground out here and nothing at the Beach.
