Official "2015 White Perch Open" Sign Up Page

Believe it or not August is right around the corner! That means one of our best and most competitive Tournaments we have is upon us. What makes this a great tournament is that everybody has a shot at winning it, whether you're on a Kayak, Boat, Pier or fishing from Shore.

Also it has a family entree that allows the entire family and kids to join the fun. So when the kid reels in the 13"er while your tourny fishing it will count.

Last years White Perch Tourny participation was by far the largest that I have seen since I have been in the club. With 7 families and 16 individual participants, the winner taking home $167.50 for the largest fish!

So please join the fun! So who's in?

You can sign up at July 1st meeting, August 5th meeting, pay me in person or send payment to:

Assuming we can also pay up in person at the July meeting?

The perch are out there. I caught between 35-40 perch this morning in Weems Creek. The water was high and murky (<6" visibility) after last night's storm. I used lures with spinner blades to allow the fish to home in on the lure. They were not bunched up at all -- I typically caught 1 or 2 perch per section of shoreline. If I moved 100 ft either way, I often caught another fish or two.

Many of the fish were 7"-10" and fat. I don't keep perch, but if I did, there was some fine eatin' there.

Tasty indeed. One day I decided to go fish for lunch..... It took about two hours to catch enough for lunch/5 solid size perch. When I am just meat fishing, I usually get at least a dozen an hour.

Count me in, too. I need something like this to motivate me to find some time on the water!

I'm in but I just had brakes put on my wife's car and am waiting for my loan to be approved. Hopefully I will have the money available at the August meeting.
