Just got off the phone with the captain . He is sorry to inform us that the only way they can afford to make this trip is to increase the fare to $170.00 . They normally do not incur the added insurance dollars this time of year as the boat is not sailing . Between the cost of fuel , oil , bait , crew and insurance , they have no choice but to up the price . I know that quite a few of you have already made reservations and this comes as quite a shock . The owners and captain are aware of this and do not blame you one bit if you decide to cancel . At $170.00 , it is still comparable or less than a trip to Jersey or VA Beach . For those of you that have the captain's contact info , please call him to confirm your plans . For those that are interested in fishing with us on January 3rd , please contact me via PM . Sorry to be the bearer of this news but it is what it is .

I am available the entire week, and the trip gets scheduled on a Saturday when I have tickets to a basketball game at the Verizon Center. I do not want to complain, but....

Wife and I are Pitt Alumni. Son is a future Pitt Alumni. I am still kicking myself for missing the game last year. I take Pitt for 150 Alex. I will catch the next trip.

Believe what you want to blieve buddy . What do you know about insuring a 75 foot headboat ? Paying not one but two captains to head over 50 miles offshore ? On an 18 hour trip a vessel for hire must have two captains for safety's sake . Paying a full time experienced mate ? Bait cheap ? Tried buying clams and squid for 25 anglers to last all day lately ? How much fuel do you think a vessel of that size will burn in 18 hours ? Big twin diesels and a 6 cylinder generator to boot ? You're in PA ? Just go fish in Jersey , closer anyway .

Is this a morning star trip?

cabin heated?, or a least a place to get out of weather for a bit now and then?
Not Morningstar . Monty doesn't do trips that far offshore and isn't sailing at all right now . The boat is the Angler and there is plenty of room to get out of the weather . It is heated with a few electric space heaters .
