Arrived at the ramp at 0600, line was backed up on rt 12, lot was half full . Had the boat in the water by 0640, water temp @ ramp 34F. Followed the Armada out of the inlet, 95% of the boats were headed north, Water temp @ sea bouy was 38F. I decided not join the rat race and headed south on a tip of fish (Striped ones) south the day before. Found some 44F water south of Rodanthe, right on the 3mi line, marked lots of bait and scattered birds. Found the fish about 10am, lots of fish and big ones, unfortunately they were of the blue variety. Started working our way north and stayed in the blues right up to the boiler . The blues were good for some pullage were fun on light tackle. Had one on that had some serious battle scars and burped up half a croaker before we could get the hook out. Heard alot of talk on the radio of a slow but consistant bite up around the Wright Memorial, White Mojo's were what everyone was talking about.
We decided to head in around 1pm and finish up our last minute shopping. Merry Christmas everyone and good luck if you go.
