Bill,

You have toooo much time on your hands. I think it would be loyal of you to come on down to Waldorf and cover my afternoon classes. I'm using the Tactical Approach to Teaching Games model in P.E. this week. You know.....basketball dribbling while I'm on my computer reading tidalfish. Think you can swing it. We pay good.....

3/4 packed and ready to go but need a weather window that makes it worthwhile. Monday looks pretty good and then it goes to He!!.

I can handle your class Frank but the question is do I want to.;-)

Could start going through my stuff for the Tri-State Flea but that is not any fun at all.

OK all you top water fans. Just think of how much money this guy could save you. No need for all those fancy rods, leaders and lures. Just take a net, a bucket of rocks and this guy out on your boat. You find the breaking fish, he hits 'em in the head when they are above water, you net 'em. Wonder if he could hit a mac in flight?

When I viewed the clip about Rufus the bean shooter, there was another one with a woman with red hair who was supposed to be an expert with the sling shot. It is hilarious. I am not posting the link because her language gets fouler every time she misses. I am sure you can find it if interested.

I think Rufus is safe with his title as "the best".

Judging from the Pepsi can, the video looks like it was made in about 1978. That looks like one of the formed steel cans that bridged the gap between the last gasps of the seamed steel can and the aluminum can.

Wow...the knowledge that exists at TF !! Recognizing the age of a Pepsi can? Awesome! I'll take ragnad's word about the can's age, but it also matches up well with the timeline. Rufus Hussey died in 1994, after making 15,864 of his famous bean shooters (in the clip he was only at 4,156). He not only sold a lot of hand made slingshots, but gained some fame. He was on Johnny Carson in 1986, and Charles Kuralt did an "on the road" piece a few months later.
