After a trip to CBBT I was a little curious about the conctere ship break water.

It is interesting to see that some of these are floating breakwaters in Canada while the Kiptopeke bunch broke apart.

Being that the ones on the west coast are kept afloat, the water supports the hull evenly. The ones at Kitopeke were sunk and I imagine coming to rest on an uneven bottom, and the hull not supported evenly, caused them to break up.

Skip,I remember years ago on RT.1 around the Jessup/Laural area,A Guy used to build Sail Boats out of Concrete!!!And they were huge.Always wondered how they would float!!! [Mike]

It's a shame the ones at Kipoteke were not used as a fishing reef off shore.The steel wrecks rot away after time but concrete would last almost forever.
