The Pennsylvania chapter of the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) is proud to present to the fishing public, a seminar series on Striper Fishing.
The event is going to take place on Saturday Jan 31 beginning at 6 PM at the West End Boat Club at 500 W 2nd Street, Essington, Pa 19029. Tickets are $10. Tickets may be purchased at the door. We will also have some prizes to raffle and a 50/50. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

We have a great line up of speakers for you, each an expert in the area of their talk. You don't have to be a member of the RFA to come, but we would appreciate all who sign up at the seminar.

Speaking, will be:

1. Fred Uhlman.........Fred is the owner of the No Bones bait and tackle shop in Wildwood, New Jersey and also the star of the Jersey Cape fishing show. Fred has spent his life exploring and learning about the way the stripers feed and locate in the barrier island waterways. Fred will be sharing his unique knowledge of this fishery and you are guaranteed to learn something new in his seminar

2. Capt Steve Bent.......Steve is the captain of the charter boat "Free Spirit" and has fished the Delaware Bay for big stripers and is a veteran skipper of these waters. Steve has caught many a trophy sized striper for his clients including a 66 pounder caught the previous year. Steve will share his chunking techniques to find and land the big ones.

3. Jim Hutchinson......Jim is the managing editor of the Fisherman Magazine and has fished the shorelines of New Jersey all of his life. Jim will speak on the live bunker fishery for big bass that occurs on the central coast of New Jersey in June and early July. Jim will speak on how to net your own bait and how to fish with them for the bigger fish. Jim also has some unbelievable photos of the action in this fishery.

4. Captain Harvey Yenkinson.....Harv runs Vetcraft sportfishing out of Cape May and is a veteran of fishing the rips almost 20 years. Harv is also a field writer for the New Jersey Angler magazine and has written numerous scientific articles on this and other fisheries.Harv will speak on the fishery in the famous Cape May rips. Harv will give you the details of how the water temps, wind, moon phases, barometric pressure, water clarity, bait presence, rip profile, time of day, and even day of the week affect this fishery.

If he can make it, we will also have Captain Timmy Tanghare and Paul Brady of Clean Sweep sportfishing come speak on the exciting striper fishery going on in Virginia right now. Techniques are slightly different down there, so this will be interesting if the weather is too bad for the guys to fish that day.
