Hey Guys,Wondering if anyone has a Parker 2320 DVSC/Bracket.Wondering about the Ride in the Bay Chop.My Back isn't the Best and I was wondering if they Pound.I know because of the Helm being forward,There is more up and down motion.......Its the coming down part that I worry about. Thanks! [Mike]

My brother in law has the 23 DV Pilothouse. He uses it up in Long Island sound and I've fished from it quite a bit. I would say it is pretty bumpy via the helm being far forward. I like the boat a lot though...nice fishing platform but I would say an average ride in a head sea.

I've been looking at them also. A few observations.
1. The newer models have a 21 degree hull vs. I think 16 so its a sharper entry to combat the BUMP. Heard its done well.
2. I'm a little over 6' and fish alone a lot. Looking at the canvas back instead of solid doors. Cooler in summer - a lot.
3. The doorway is a little narrow - again why I'm looking at the canvas. Norfolk Marine said the price difference is only about $325 for canvas.
4. Keep an eye on the headroom. Have to duck to get in and out. The 25' model gives you nearly 2" more headroom in the doorway.
5. I'm thinking of the outsde controls mounted on the bulkhead or side since I like to be near the action, watch the rods and be near the controls all at once.
6. Have a Grady now but my family complains that no matter how big they get, its the same layout and not much sun room for the girls.
7. I put 2 folding lounge chairs on the rear deck (sun worshippers throne) and was still able to move around them and fish. I think you get a better tan from holding a pole than laying around anyway......
8. Seriously thinking about the windlass option since its not really a walkaround.
9. Parker is out of NC and I had a few conversations with Robin at the plant and she gave me a lot of good things to consider.

Hope my thoughts help. I'd like to tow it also but its getting close to my tow limit when you add the motor, fuel, stuff, etc. I can only tow 6,500 lbs and that getting well over 5,500 lbs loaded.

I had one, kept it in Deale. It banged. You can't escape it. The helm controls, seat are directly over the wave fulcrum. Great boat, otherwise. Super platform. I have a 2820 now. It still bangs (in the ocean, where I keep it) . All sport-pilothouses will bang underway, I made the tradeoff, am satisfied ( and have a relatively healthy back)

Lower the seat , get some thick, dense foam and a makeshift seatbelt. Saves the back ( and the head/neck if yer tall enough) from "bangitis".

I'd be comin' out of a '95 Hydra-Sports 2000 Vector C.C.She has a 22* Deadrise as opposed to the 21* on the Parker.Kinda wondering if the length of the Parker will kinda off-set the[shorter] length of My Hydra-Sport.Just don't want something thats going to compress my Spine!I'm in the MD. portion of the bay and in the Summer,Between the 1-3 ft. chop and Boat traffic wakes. It gets snotty sometimes. Thanks!

I don't think the extra couple of feet is going to help you much on the ride aspect...the helm is just too far forward.

I hate when someone else "plugs" their boat but IF a soft ride is very important, a 24 Albemarle is hard to beat in it's size...totally different boat/layout though. I've owned one for 9 years...if you have any questions let me know

Glenn.I used to have a 1979 Wellcraft Nova/Offshore Model......Twin 350's.....Almost the same Hull as the Albe.I Fish Solo most of the time,so I need the Rear steering for puttin' Spreads out and Fishing Bridges.

V.B....The Mod. Hull isn't a consideration as I know they can take your teeth out!I know being way forward in a Pilothouse will be a whole different ride from what I'm accustomed too in my C.C.I do alot of runnin' and don't want to be an inch shorter when I come back in!:D:DAin't that tall to start with!:D

You may want to take a look at the Judge 24 or 27 Chesapeake. They both utilize the same warped plane hull that you see with many of the custom Carolina boats. Judge, located in Denton MD is a great small semi custom builder that can build the boat the way you want. Whether you prefer an enclosed pilot house or open to the cockpit. You can also have a rear station in the cockpit.

2510

I've been fishing out of my 1988 2510 for a couple years now. The cabin is great .... I took it out yesterday there was LOTS of water blowing over the side.... not a problem just turned the wipers on and kept on trucking... the motors (2 strokes) are far enough back so that carrying on a conversation or talking on the radio while running is easy.... and for a 25' boat lots of room. I'm 6' 2" and can stand comfortably in the cabin... I do bump my head going through the door sometimes... but I do like having the solid door.

That was the good stuff.... it is a rough ride when the weather picks up. My boat has a 16" (or 18") deadrise and it will beat you up if you are in rough seas and in a hurry, conversely the horizontal stability is very good. On a nice day the boat will cruise around 26-30 kts at around 3800-4000 rpm.

All in all a good boat.. but I do envy the deep V's when the waves are up.

I don`t own one, but have fished one alot some
years ago with the aft controls..the aft controls is a great fit,
and are a dream to use and handle the boat fishing and
backing into a slip, BUT, there is a major BLIND spot created
when it comes to trolling, you just can`t see past the fwrd
cabin on the port side...Dangerous if fishing alone..Ride has
alot to be desired..My .02 worth.

Hey Loneranger, I have to agree with Persistance2. I too own an Albemarle, and though I don't "plug" any specific brand because everyone has their choice, I have to say by FAR the softest ride I have ever been on. Just opinion. I have been on the boat you are looking at and I say it bangs pretty good but most forward cabins do. I don't think you can get around it. Good luck and Good fishing!
