Are these fish protected? We released one but wondered if there was a size citation or if they had any food quality, as nobody we talked with ever caught one.

i dont think they are protected but they are poisiones........ i think dat because they eat coral

Midnight parrotfish is not a protected species. I have never eaten one but I know people who have. I would consider it a trash fish whether it has food quality or not.

they tast great BUT their known for carrying ciguttera poisining BAD STUFF but if your willing to risk it they are great table fare
