Fished the mouth of the river last night from 4:30 to 7:00pm. Beautiful afternoon/evening, calm water and many schools of silversides, no menhaden to be found. Again, no breaking fish until a large school of 19 inch rock started crashing the bait. Trolled four rods, using only smaller Clarke spoons down 10-20 feet. Lots of bluefish action, sized 14-17 inches, kept 7 for the smoker. Big fish of the day was a 21 inch Spanish caught trolling at 3 knots. Lots of birds everywhere, from terns to pelicans to bald eagles.
