Let's see who can predict Obama's cabinet and senior staff!! If you want to rant, please take it to another thread. Ditto if you try to pick b.s. folks (Carl Max, Oprah, etc.). This is intended to be a super-serious thread of the highest importance.:cool2:

OK....I'll start:

WH Chief of Staff: Rahm Emanuel (as everyone now knows, so not really a fair pick).

WH Counsel: Bob Bauer

Attorney General: Eric Holder

Deputy Attorney General: a brilliant, youngish upstart whose name shall be revealed in December or January

Press Secretary: Robert Gibbs

National Security Advisor: Anthony Zinni (or Colin Powell if he's not Sec State..or Jim Steinberg...lots of possibilities for this one)

Nat'l Intell Director: Jane Harman (or Sue Rice if she's not UN Amb)

CIA Director: Jamie Gorelick

U.N. Ambassador: Al Gore (or Sue Rice if Gore goes to EPA or is placed in some special U.N. climate change role)

Secretary of State: Colin Powell

Secretary of Defense: Gates will stay on for a few months, then Chuck Hagel will replace him

Secretary of Treasury: Timothy Geithner (I realize that the smart money is on Larry Summers, but I'm going with a dark horse to make me look insightful if I'm correct)

Secretary of Homeland Security: Bill Bratton

Secretary of Energy: Jeff Bingaman

Secretary of Transportation: Earl Blumenauer

EPA Administrator: Al Gore (or Kathleen McGinty if Gore is made ambassador to the UN)

Secretary of HUD: Valerie Jarret

Secretary of Health & Human Services: Hillary Clinton

I think its a stretch to assume Hillary will work under BO.. She has her eye on the prize, and she might get it in eight years.. In the meantime it's nice to be a Dem Senator from New York..

And I'm on the fence about Powell doing anything.. Still think he doesn;t need the pressure or aggrevation..

you may be on the fence, but the question is whether Gen. Powell is;-) One typically does not provide covert nat'l security and foreign affairs advice to a campaign, then announce very publically and forcefully one's support, without planning to join the fight at some point

A agree re Hillary, but it would be a great strategic move for Obama (get a potentially meddlesome voice out of the Senate and under some level of control). Given Obama's obvious coattails, she may get caught up in the moment if asked.

I think Hillary will run for Gov. of NY, or Mayor of NYC.
I see Colin Powell as Sec. of Education, at least for awhile, maybe relieving Gates after a year, or so.
Don't count out Caroline Kennedy at UN.
Bill Richardson is in line for big post, maybe Sect. of State.

maybe they'll find a place for Condie Rice. :D
Wouldn't mind Condi, but I thought I heard shes going to San Fran to run the Niners.

Maybe not in this administration, ( thinking BO is getting 2 terms EASILY.. Pubs only have Palin on deck, and well, if thats all you have,2112 will look like Reagans 1984, the whole Country was red.. But DC's Mayor Fenty would add some youth to the admin.

And don't count out Tim Kaine, somewhere along the line

Shhhhh, don't listen to that little devil on your shoulder. That is the paranoia talking. I have a feeling that a lot of the people who voted for obama don't subscribe to much of the liberal ideology that the McCain campaign demonized throughout the last few months. They like myself were just tired of the same old ****. I suggest you tune out for a while and let the rage pass. It is a beautiful world out there. It's hard to enjoy when you see liberals out to get you everywhere you look.:))
