Went out of Quades Store and trolled tandem bucktails in yellow and white between Cobb Island to St. Clements Island for 3 hours on a rising tide. Marked a fair number of fish in 33-35 feet of water. No hook-ups.
Fished south of there.....just a touch north of Ragged Point on Friday and Saturday. Limited out on both days early and then played C&R for the rest of the day. We lost track, but probably had 12-14 fish each day. Only a few shortys...all others were keepers.Trolled tandem storms and umbrellas with storms. Had a few hook ups on a WWWB cripple Alewife roof rod with 10 ounces. Ran heavy weight and tried to set the spread to about 20-25 down. we marked a ton of fish all day in that area. Most action favored the VA. side of the river. Our best fish was a 28", 10# fatty. No lice on any fish. We were very surprised to not have any biteoffs from the blues. I guess the water has cooled enough to drive them out....finally. If the wind cooperates you should deffinately consider fishing the ragged point area. They are there but for how long.....
