This is to announce the date for the Port Kinsale Potomac River Rockfis Fishing Tournament to be held April 25th. Proceeds to benifit the Kim Sellars Memorial Scholarship Fund and Smith Point Sea Rescue. This is the first of what we hope is an annual event. There have been no fishing tournaments in this area for the past five years and there is a definate need for one. It will be at the beginning of rockfish season so we can try to catch the big ones. All info and registration forms will be posted on Port Kinsale-Kinsale Virginia, marina & resort on the Yeocomico River by January 23rd. Hope to see you there. Charlie

we are hanging in there. Yes the tavern has been spruced up but it is already getting a rep. You know three people were shot and killed there this past fall. It can get pretty rowdy. There are the same 3 dozen bar patrons that circulate around the same bars in Coles Point.

Waterfront is bankrupt. Bank had one sold but it fell through right at settlement. Prices have come way down. Come by in the Spring when we are down

Yeah, I heard that someone was shot but I didn't know it was 3 people. That is too bad because the place looked great when I was there and the new people seemed to be really working hard.

I gotta go the wife is kicking me off my laptop and trying to serve supper around me (I am at the kitchen table).

Parker1961, Nothing is set in stone yet, but I talked with Charlie (Manager at Port Kinsale Marina) a week ago. Tournament planned for Saturday, April 25th with Captains meeting Friday evening April 24th. He said the planned entry fee was $175 per boat, with $25 of that for the after tournament dinner(buffet) for boat captain. Rest of your crew will need to pay $25 each. Planned payout was $1500 first place, $1000 second place, $500 third place. Weigh in only one fish (Striper) per boat. The entry fees to be split with Smith Point Sea Rescue & Moose Lodge fund for someone who died, and the rest to fund the 3 prize payout amounts. He was waiting for flyers to be picked up from printer and will eventually have info on the Port Kinsale Marina web site. The info I have provided is only what I was told and could change, but I know the Saturday, April 25th date is set.

Depends on how long it takes the dealer to get the parts that they have to order from Robalo. Also depends on how busy they get with boat show season coming up and how many boats they have to rig up. Although I can't imagine that the boat show season will be to busy for many dealers this spring.

You up for a little party the night of the tournament? Sounds like it should be a pretty nice time fishing and finish it off with a nice party if ya know what I mean.

Good luck on the VA beach trips if you go. Just send me some pictures and that green horn stuff was hilarious along with the deadliest catch picture of the bow out last trip.
