A few guys have been running Stretch 25's off a 3-way as the "mojo" with a Tomic as the trailer off of OC for the last few weeks . Able to troll with lighter gear this way . They are running the Stretch on 3 to 4 feet of leader and the Tomic 6 to 7 behind . I've never tried it but it seems to be very productive .

I was shown this tactic a couple seasons ago by good ole Mr Kimbro- summertime trolling, light spinning tackle, a diving crank, and a bucktail. Ive used it, and it definitely works! Im sure that it works on a larger scale for larger fish...

I have run a 21 tony off the back of a stretch with a 3 way. It actually produced! I was going to troll the standard chesapeake spread tomorrow with 9"leads but 6" trailers.... has that stuff been working. I understand the blues are gone with the colder water.

A strech 25 with a an atomic would still require some pretty heavy gear but I guess one guys opinion of heavy gear is different from the next. Afterall, it is Ocean City where ofshore fishing speaks louder than inshore striper fishing.

Pretty cool technique.

So what's still going on in Ocean City now anyway?

You can even rig a shad body with a plain ol' J hook to get the least amount of weight possible. I also suggest a wide-bodied deep-running crankbait like a Bill Normam DD22 instead of a Stretch 25, especially if you try this in the bay because with the tighter wiggle, they're less likely to run off sideways when they encounter trash. Those lures can dig a ditch through an oyster bed and still run true.
