this is a bad thing to happen to the small strip of salt marsh directly across from my dads house and where my boat is on a lift. lets not let this happen.
Marina shores has enough boat slips now. and we don't want barges in a already to small channel. everybody contact the city and stop this now.

Thanks for your comments. City leagues are meeting and talking. But it has come on fast with very little notice.

Survey stakes just went into the water today. "seems they've been working off the wrong measurements" gives you a really good idea of how narrow the channel will be.
Right in the middle of the speckled trout fish'n hole. No room left for troll'n. The fish will be gone any way. If this passes, and you want to take a trip down long creek, i guess they'll have caution lights in the water to let you know if a barge is backing out, around the old marina's 30' encroachment violation that was allowed to stay in the channel the first go around. Cape henry shores and bay island both have entrances into long creek, too.

Tell a friend. Write the city and ask our councilmen to keep their promise to leave the property in it's natural state.
Any help is appreciated!

Marina shores wetlands hearing withdrawn for now

Just received official word that marina shores is withdrawing their current plans and will not be heard at the wetlands hearing on january 18th.

They are planning to revise and resubmit later.

The city of virginia beach should keep the 1987 promise to the
community and leave this area alone. It's a recorded restriction.

If you're out and about-- the stakes in the water appear to
be for the floating golf cart dock. Then there's the finger piers
to add into the channel for the 50' boat slips.
