Left the barn this am at 0700 with my dad and my younger cousin anthony...Lines in at 0800 and first run at 0930 everything worked out well and a 44 incher comes tight for my cousin for his biggest rockfish yet! Released her for a citation and set lines back out but i just didnt like what i was seeing, so after a few more minutes we picked up and moved south a bit...Set back up and had our 2nd run at 1230...My dad and i had flipped a coin for the next fish and i was next up...This 2nd fish had some shoulders on her when she hit...Took a lot of line off the reel, but i got her back to the boat and i could tell that she was gonna make weight back at the scales so in the box she went. Made a couple of more moves throughout the rest of the day but decided to head home at 1500. Took my fish back to back river market in Poquoson and she weighted in at 43 lbs....This got us our 4th citation in the past 3 trips.
All fish were caught on eels anywhere from 5 to 15 feet down.
