Was down in Norfolk Fri, Sat and Sun this week, (drove back last night, that was fun in the rain and wind). Fished about an hour or 2 each on Fri and Sat evenings on a lake on base with the lipless crank (A 99 cent one from Academy's Sale!) Managed a bite on fri, and 3 out of 5 on sat, biggest about 2 1/2 lbs, a hybrid sweep/yoyo thing was the ticket. Didn't sharpen the hooks (I know better) and broke the poor thing on a backcast on a dock stanchion (who designs these things) Water temp was mid to high 50s. I'm off to a good Bill Dance start, with like 40 from Gulfport, 6 local to 4 1/2, and this 3 little guys. I'm hoping to hit Mattawoman more this spring, I've only fished there a bit and usually had good success.
