Managed to slip out of work early, had lines in the water from 1330-1600. Nothing until around 1430 when I pick up a 22" on a bucktail down deep followed shortly by a 36" on a green shad down deep. Cought both fish working across the river/current in 48' of water out in front of Urbanna Creek.

Looking forward to Saturday!

did better than us...

5 of us fished all day and only put one 22" in the boat out of deltaville. Better than a skunk in the box though...

Brother-in-law David and I started at Mosquito Point and jigged up 2 small fish, then out to Spike where lots of birds working. Trolled for about an hour without a hit, birds flying all over with the occassional dip to grab a fish. Didn't see any surface breaks, seemed fish must have been deeper and gulls getting cripples that came to surface. Anyway, tried casting and jigging too, no luck! Headed out towards Fleets, and then Cut Channel. LOTS of bait in 36-41 feet, and trolled about 2 hours without a bump. Decided needed a change, and moved to Windmill bar. Saw birds working Spike again with good group of boats there, but liked being off by ourselves. Worked bar and were rewarded - a 33 3/4" throwback (could not make it 34" despite measuring it 3 times), a nice 39" fish, and a 24 inch fish. All on Stretches, in about an hour. Headed in feeling good!
