My neighbors and I really just wanted some pullage today since the trolling bite at the oceanfront has been so slow. I had the opportunity to run my buddy's 28 Whitewater Center Console today. What a sweet ride with the 250 E-Tec's. Left Taylors around 12:30 armed with spinning gear and butterbean bucktail. Spent about 30 minutes or so looking around the second island but no marks so we moved north toward the curve. We bumped along the oceanside until we started marking fish...and it was the motherload:clap:. Using 1oz bucktails we caught and released over 50 nice rockfish. The majority were in the mid 20" range but we had 6 or 8 over 30". It was hard to leave the action but we had to get the boat back to the barn. The Bay laid out and we cruised in at 35 kts until we spotted a beehive of gulls near the SBC south of the First Island. Well...we HAD to stop
. It was on again. We released another 25 or 30 fish there until the sun dipped below the horizon and we had to call it a day. Great fishing with Jeff & Ned today!!
