I clicked on the link one day earlier this week and it worked just fine. Please repost the link as I can attest to the fact that the procedure works great. Last summer, I got a medium sized treble hook caught in my hand. A who was friend fishing with me that day had seen the procedure somewhere and suggested that he give it a try. It worked perfectly. When he pulled the hook free, however, there was a small piece of squid attached to the hook. He thought for a moment that he had pulled a plug of flesh out along with the hook. Thankfully, it was only the squid!

I believe this is the site that you posted:

It is absolutely painless, it hurts worse having the hook in than takin it out. I have removed them from my fishing buddy and he has removed them from me. Give it a try next time and you will believe. The key is to press the hook down so that the barb clears the flesh when coming out of the hole.

Jamies picture is exactly why mirrolure and strech 25's scare the hell out of me.....multiple treble hooks!!!

Ive had a few singles in my hands and arms over the years, even had a ribbonfish/kingfish rig wrap around my calf with a 35 pound cobia on it once. The method shown does work, just use a shoelace or at least really heavy mono...something you can get a good grip on.

I carry large STERILE IV needles about 14 ga. slide the needle down the shaft of the hook so that the hole in the needle covers the barbs point, and the hook will slip out like it was barbless. Jerking them out can do serious damage to tendends and the vascular system. I am not a Doctor just a fisherman who has ended up in the ER by ripping a chumk out by the string method, and continued fishing using the needle method. The needle method was first done to me by a doctor freind out on the boat. Either way hold your breath!
