The imprint of the sticker will never ever come out. You can wet sand, buff etc. Only way to get rid of it is to paint. I own coastal fiberglass I deal with this all the time. Sure a hair dryer will get them off we use heat gun but the imprint under the decal will be there forever. It's not that you have to buff, it's the rest of the boat cause that is what will be faded. under the decal will be the original color of the boat. You will never get rid of it if the decal has been on there for any length of time.

the problem with goo gone and similar products is that they leave a residue that can interfere with replacement stickers or paint. Acetone doesn't but it's runny (lay your boat on its side? JK).
Magic erasers are actually fine grit (2400?) wet sanding, so no residue.
