Has anybody been catching any rock fish in the Chowan lately?the last i heard of was the ones caught on jigs around the mouth of Wiccacon and up towards Horns Point.

Rock On!
Went out this morning with 2 of on the boat. We caught over 30 stripers and got our 6 keepers. Fished from Wiccacon towards Horn Point Wiccacon side fishing about 18' deep with grubs. Times we had 4 on at once. Most were running 15-171/2" but put up a good fight . Fished from 8:30 to 11:30. Going back out in the AM. I'm in an white aluminum PrinceCraft with a Merc. See ya on the water.

I'm in elizabeth city never fished tat far up the chowan. looking at a map i see a ramp near arrowhead bech, is that a good place to put in?

i have never put in at arrowhead but i guess it would be ok.

The best place to put in is from the Gatesville wildlife ramp at New Ferry Road. That is the closest to the area fished. The 2nd best would be the wildlife ramp at Cannons Ferry. We fished today and pulled in 21 fish with 2 keepers and then the wind came up. Some fish were caught up Bennets creek. My best bait has been a 6" pink & white grub on a 1/4 oz jig head slow trolled in 16-20' water. Fish em deep & slow.
