Not a fan of lobster. Crabmeat on the other hand I could eat till I exploded. $26/lb for regular crabmeat right now on The Eastern shore. I don't like fish enough to pay for it and unless I know the fishermen that caught it I'm steering clear of it.
White perch is way better then rock fish in my opinion and snake head has them all beat .
The last time I looked at what they had for sale it was imported, it might be different now. I rarely shop at Wegmans. At the height of the season I buy it from Lindy's, vacuum seal it and freeze it. When they're picking a lot, the price drops to $21/lb.
The retail price is fairly consistent most places, the wholesale market is all over the place. No shortage of fish or demand, another good Christmas on the horizon.
Well, if you count the 2 catfish we got against the cost of the new boat, it come out to about $1500/lb for the 2 catfish we've caught, lol.
Lindy's is $22/lb. this weekend for your Mothers Day present. I bought 2 lb. yesterday it was as fresh as it gets as usual.

I have to agree with that as well. Most of my time is spent perch fishing, always plenty in my freezer. I've only caught 1 snakehead, but it was much tastier than a striper. I might look into a snakehead trip this year.
They're a hell of a lot better that the Mackwills you'll be trying to catch and paying $100 # to catch this year.If you can find Snakehead sandwiches , they are $20 each. Not a pound.
