Initial concern over full moon on Friday (biggest in +20 years) thinking night feeding was an issue.
Left Solomons at 0930 and traveled south.
Me and one other hard core with temp around 33 with 15-20knts from north.
Started in Hooper Light house area and trolled south given +3Fters from North.
6 lines/solo-2oz chutes/9inch shad/3 Green-3 White/100-150 back/4 on downriggers down 10-15ft/2 other lines flat off side holder. ( no planers give waves...normally 4 more lines)
Gannets in area but not bunched up.
Around 1130...Noticed 5 Gannets hitting water in same general area.
Bait was present but not huge balls...just a layer at around 10-15ft....

Got 17 fish in 2 hour time frame...lost 4 fish given removal of stingers after we had our limit...had 5 fish in 10mins...2 triples/2 doubles/only one fish under 30"...most fish were 36-39"...
While bringing in a 42" saw another fish following right up to the boat of the same size.(never seen this on big rock while under troll).

I love catching big fish without umbrellas!

What a great fall and a great bay!

:rockingreport:

We had to put one of the boats away for winter that I fish on yesterday. Up N we didn't have any luck, one knock-down that got off while I waited to make a hand-off.
