You can see what PETA is attempting and it may work. They are trying to poison the minds of our kids. Parents who love hunting and fishing have their work cut out for them.
Schools already have our kids thinking global warming is going to fry us all. We could use a little warming today.

That's why, as parents and respectable adults, we need to ensure that we don't let tv, schools, peers, PETA freaks, etc ever be our kids' main influence or offer them something that they may perceive to be a better alternative than good-ol family values. This PETA thing is only scary because so many people have defaulted to blame others for what their kids do and don't do and they forgot they it's up to the family to instill values in their kids.
For a good example of how this is done, look at the thread on the VA board about the kid who caught a juvenile world record striper, but was disqualified because someone else held the rod for a few seconds. The kid and his dad chose to do the right thing and tell the truth--at the expense of what would have been a very exciting and prestigious recognition. Something tells me that kid will be OK and will grow up to understand the importance of the values that his dad has taught him along the way. He'll also cherish the moments fishing with his pops a lot more than what registering that world record.
Sorry for the rant but the one of my pet peeves is the the fact that some of our society seems to have forgotten the premise of accountability and self-reliance as well as the basic concept of raising kids to become respectable adults. This is what allows PETA to even materialize the [email protected] idea of "sea kittens".

oops, I guess we were supposed to put the "kitty ears" on the fish...

I love it.. I teach as well. We are on evolution in my middle school science class. I will be sure to tie the sea kittens into my lecture on natural selection and how anything so cute would quickly be eaten by the much cooler fierce Mr. Bluefish...We then will pass around the deer jerky and discuss survival of the fittest.:yes:

It's funny that they don't even want to call fish "fish" anymore. These people really need to get a hobby or two! I have already told my daughter that cats are bad anyway so this will work in my favor!!! I just hope she doesn't start gaffing neighborhood kittys!
