Got a last minute invite to go for seabass yesterday . I want to thank Captain Chris Mizurak and mate Dean Lo of the Angler and Captain Walt Austin of the Arno for having us along on a great trip aboard the Arno . KenY and Fishking (Mark) of TF came with us . We arrived at the dock while it was still dark and loaded up in snow flurries . After a fairly short ride we did some dropping with meager results in 120 feet of water . We then proceded much further offshore to check on some #'s that were supposed to hold some nice fish . We searched and searched for over an hour and just couldn't find what we were looking for so further off we go . The next drop was fast and furious with many big fish . Caught lots of doubles and KenY was just pounding them with his butterfly jigging setup . We never really had to move the boat again as the fishing just never let up . We left them biting and made it back to the dock while it was still daylight . Doesn't get much better than that , especially in late January .

Thanks, guys. Thinking about leaving one of the boats in next winter and just wanted some idea of how far you had to run to get into em. If anybody ever needs a ho out of OC during the winter for toggin, seabass, or rockfish, let me know. At this point, I'll chip in fuel money just to rebait hooks and clean the boat:eek2:
