Water temp at Cape Henry was 39.4. I ran over to Smith Island this morning and temp was 38.9. At Dam Neck it was 40. No bait, no fish.

hmmm I might have to suck it up and make the run way south tomorow. At least you managed a fish despite the tough bite today.

A friend was ona charter today ... got a limit 40 miles N of Rudee and they could not see land when the bite was on.... and so it goes.

Went C & R at 2-3rd island. Fished between the bridges,caught about 30 all 20-28 inches,
trolled stretch 25, one red/white one silver. Water tempurature was 38. Lots of bait

Do not bother going south tomorrow, they were not there today! Heard of one boat that went way, way, way north that had a limit of big fish. Nice, if you are interested in a water trip to Maryland.

Was with the rest of the fleet, but a boat pulled in next to me at the marina about 2 with 4 nice ones and a paper, said they were around the green can.
Fishermen ALWAYS tell the truth. They had been dragging green sparkly 9" shads on daisey chains and a couple of greenish stretches, they were still rigged.

I feel your pain, we started off at the Cape and ran up to Machapongo on board "Mudrunner" with Capt Carlos, caught 3 throw backs lost one and pu 1 30" in the boat. At least we had a nice day and got to watch a whal breaching off Fishermans Island.

We were out there today also. Trolled for about 2 hours at CH with nothing, then the belt on my Merc outboard busted. Had to be towed in by Tow Boat US, but the new belt is only $50. Hopefully back at them tomorrow. Hopefully the water will get a little warmer...today I showed btwn 36-37.
