Got out there to the Spike about 4:30pm for some spot action. Used fish bites (bloodworm) only. Caught about 24 spot for my crab pots. Lot of small croaker and bait size spot biting also. The fish bites seem to dissolve pretty quick in the warm water but couldn't get any real bloods so they did the trick. Bobby , the bounce trick worked at the Spike this afternoon also. Don't know what the difference is but if I bounced the sinker up and down a few times a spot would bite right afterwards. ?

BT I don't know why it works and I have even less of and idea why some other techinqes I use for spot work ( Ive got a technique called slack lining and old Black guy showed me that also sometimes works when nothing else will)I just try to do what it takes to put fish in the boat. I,ll ask Josh as he has an answer or explantion for everthing. That little boy is the biggest bullshooter I know and is always trying to tell me how I could catch more fish. Hey you know when the fast growth rate of a spot is???? After you catch him. Josh has caught 5 pounders Thissss Long. Glad you caught some and have a good one. Family will be out tommorow looking for some papers. I can catchem 1 lb but haven't found that 1lb 2oz yet.

Ok, here is the secret that my 9 year old Josh has given me on catching fish. We were fishing from a friends pier a couple of weeks ago and the fishing was a little slow. Josh proceeds to take his shoes off and states "This is how you do it, a man has to be comfortable." A few minutes later he starts pulling in perch one after another until he gets a half of bucket full and gets tired of it.

This past weekend, my father-in-law and I were fishing out at the fingers with an old navy buddy of mine for blue fin tuna. The troll was a little light on action. So, my father-in-law quitely pulls his shoes off and motions me to be quite about it. About 10 minutes later, he sees a white marlin break the surface and then lands. Comes up again and does a tail walk then one of the reels starts screaming. After a two hour fight with him on the end of 30lb line, the fish is along side and is a +6 ft and close to 100lb white marlin.

So, there may be something to a man being comfortable when he's a fishin'.

I don't have the numbers cause my book is on the boat. Its at the mouth of the Rapp. just north of Stingray Light and there is a green day marker just inside the river. 28 to 30 ft. of water. Look for the boats cause there should be some there. Good luck and hope ya'll catch a bunch. I'll post the numbers if I can remember the book tomorrow.
