With the 76F temps yesterday, I fished the pond out back to kill some time while waiting to take my son to his evening indoor soccer game. Fished a variety of size 16 nymphs and streamers and had consistent action with bluegills and shiners (emeralds and golden). Nothing huge, but it was good to have some pullage. I probably should have tried some clousers for some lmb but had fun with the small stuff nonetheless. Shad will be here soon

Very nice. It's always good to know how to get good size shinners. Even if it's just to chum to start a good bite for the fly rod. With big shinners around, you can be pretty certain there are big bass in there too.

It was raining Sunday afternoon, but warm enough to cast some tan and white rabbit clousers w/rubber leg tails (size 6) to some willing largemouth bass. In about an hour's time 3 bass ranging 2 to 3 lbs willingly provided some pullage.
