Drill a hole on the starboard side and insert the cables through it. Curve the cables toward the motor and the ake a loop with the cables and then insert them into the engine. The loop insures that you have enough slack for the motor to turn fully in both directions. Sorry but I don't have a pic.
If your replacing your steering anyway why not look at hydrolic steering? This would make it very simple. You would run the line thru the same hole as your fuel line.
I agree hydro steering is the way to go. There is no steering wheel feedback like cable steering and it is much easier to set up. Minus the bleedling of the lines but its worth it!
I was thinking of going that route, but I am still looking for some pics or a website with pics. I have not had much time to search the internet myself, just trying to get info the easy way again
most O/B's on a bracket use a rigging kit consisting of a flange & hose that goes over a hole that is drilled in the transom, all the steering, & control cables will fit in the hose. I used one of these.
