Tried to jig the rockpile saturday morning, but the steady 20 knot breeze made it impossible. Went to the piankatank instead and caught spot for the baitwell.

Wind died down enough on Saturday afternoon to hit Stingray Pt. Caught 20" rockfish with almost every cast using small live spot. Picked up a few more with storms when we ran out of spot, but they definitely preferred the real thing. Great day for me and my 10 yr old crew.

Caught more spot on Sunday morning, but it was too rough for my 18' CC at the light to be enjoyable, so we packed it in and headed back to Norview.

Just keeping busy until the big ones arrive. Any guesses on how much longer the spot will be around?

Good report, were you casting to the rock base at stingray light? We were catching small spot into November last year...I would imagine as long as the water stays fairly warm you'll pick up a few.

Yes, we were casting to the rock base of the light. 15-20 fish in all, none over 22"
