Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. He said there was a Hot bight at Cape Henry 2C and CBJ area. Gannets, Pelicans, gull and bait. He went out after noon and he said thay where bighting before he got there. Mostly smaller keeper size fish but some big ones mixed in and he needed one more for a limit.

Any one else got a good report about this bight.

I just talked to another friend of mine that ran on sea tow this morning from Little Creek to the Ches Light Tower and they didn't see anything significant while they where running this morning. My other friend didn't go out till after noon.

I was just reading another post where Dennis saw some folks cleaning some nice striper at Lynnhaven and they said they caught them near Cape Henry. I checked the Current tables for Cape Henry and the afternoon does seem best for today for an afternoon bight with this colder water to get the fish feeding. I like to see a report from someone who was actually out there, so I can stop playing phone tag. It is good to hear of a decent bight again. I have a trip for next Saturday and hope the bight sticks around. It usually get better as we get near the end of February.

I just got off the phone again, My friend said these fish where fat like barrels, and they started catching them around 1100 this morning. He also said is seemed there was like a hundred boats out there, so I expect the reports will be flying in about an hour.

Looks Fishy:eek2: left Rudee at about noon, hooked up with fleet off of Cape Henry, about 2 miles out. Started trolling and wound up south and west of 4A, right on the line. Picked up a nice fish at 2:30, then got 2 more around 3:00.By this time, we are right on the "line", running parallel to it, in sight of 4a. Got our 4th fish around 3:45. We were in 28-32 ft of water, just inside the 3 mi line. Trolling speed was 3mph. Red/white stretch caught 3 fish, white umbrella caught the other. We were in sight of a lot of boats that were east of us a good ways. CG cutter headed their way and they all scattered. Reminded me of drug dealers running from the cops.
We picked up and headed in. Made the 10 mile run to Rudee Inlet in 15 mins:eek2:

Had first double of the year, two 38"ers on tandom parachute rig!! Me and buddy left lynnhaven at 1500 and caught 8 between 1530 and 1730. Last two at dusk casting storms at topwater fish. It was funny to see the fleet 3 to 4 miles out scatter like criminals when the Coast Guard cutter approched, oh thats right..they are criminals!!

YUP - Limited out plus a few for C&R. Was a great afternoon. Went to 4A earlier in the day and nada. Then took a ride out to Ches light just becuase...water was warmer but no birds or activity. then I heard about the bight starting at CH and made my way back in. Got my limit in 45 minutes and then went light tackle for fun. Both keeprs were 38 and 34".
