I am working on a new home in Poquoson that is on the water. I always keep a pole on the van just in case I end up close to water during the day. I had thirty minutes to kill at the end of the day so I took my short little pole ( because of the abuse being on the van every day ) and walked out to the waters edge. They have a small boat house over the water that I thought was the place to target. In only 20 minutes I caught one striper around 20 inches and had 2 more hits but they did not find the hook. Water was about 6 feet deep and very dirty. I was using a rattle trap lure. I know, not much of a report but it did feel good to catch a striper. After the last 2 years of not catching any stripers while fishing the entire bay and wasting lots of gas it doesn't take much to make me happy.
