I'm looking to purchase a rod and reel for LTJ and Flounder fishing. I am thinking I should get a spinning reel for LTJ, and a conventional reel for the Flounder fishing. If there is a good combo I could use for both that would be great. Any specific rod and reel combinations would be greatly appreciated.
I'M NOT LOOKING FOR ONE REEL/ROD TO USE FOR BOTH, RATHER A RECOMMENDED COMBO TO USE FOR EACH SPECIFICALLY. THANKS

Very tough to find one rod / reel combo that can do it all.

A baitcaster reel has an advantage for Flounder when drifting. You can leave it in free spool with your thumb holding the line - then drop back when a Flounder bites or your sinker comes off bottom.

For LTJ - kinda the same bind. A rod that can handle a 2 oz jighead with a 10 inch BKD might be too heavy for a 1/2 oz head with a 5 inch BKD and vice versa.

I guess you'll have to weigh out which type fishing you'll do most of - then buy that outfit.

Both spinning and baitcaster will work in either situation.
