Getting ready to fish out of Somers Cove. Have the fish arrived? Croakers, Seatrout, Specks, Stripers? Hot spots?

No croaker I'm aware of. Plenty of stripers in the shallows and the specks are flowing in regularly in the same areas as the stripers. Drop offs, points, rips, and stumps around the marsh islands have been pretty good. Look for clean water too. I've been fishing around Janes Island 3 times this year so far and caught about 15-20 stripers each time and 8 specks the past two times. All the specks were nice sized (18-22"). Everything on lures. heard some cownose rays have started showing up too.

Specs are well above tangier, so I'd expect the sound to give some solid fishing.

Yes light tackle, 2500 reel and I got the ray and my jig back but the hook was bent. Should have just broke him off.

They're as far north as The Little Choptank, M got a little 13" last weekend. Hoping his momma and poppa are there this week.

There have been a handful of solid ones up in a few creeks on the big tank too.

The water is still warming, there were pockets of cold water. I found a place that is prime Speck habitat. That was M's first Speckled trout.
