Our good friend Bill Burton, the admiral of the Chesapeake, is mighty sick.
Now, as a former Navy frogman and a tough bugger, he's outlasted countless doctors, divorce lawyers, bartenders and undertakers.
But this cancer he's battling is a particularly nasty opponent, and he needs all the encouragement and good wishes he can get.
He's not big on the Internet machine and his Fax machine often lacks the necessary paper. And he HATES people making a fuss or slobbering over him.
But if you get near a CVS or something like that, please consider picking up a card and sending it to him.
I know he'd appreciate it.
His address is:
Bill Burton, P.O. Box 430, Pasadena, MD, 21122-0430

Thanks Candy. Bill is one of the reasons I started fishing the Chesapeake. His springtime magazine is required reading for me. The maps are what I used to determine the initial spots I went fishing when I bought my own boat. I missed the magazine this year and the opening editorial from Bill. I will pray for him.

I have never met the man but I did spend many a day reading the Bill Burton weekly fishing report in the local newspaper as a juvenile . He is actually a somewhat nearby neighbor to me and I only wish him and his family the best as we enter this new year. Bill, you are a legend that may be replicated, but never duplicated. May God Bless you and your family in the upcoming new year.
