I haven't done that in a few years.
Great fun, tog & Sea bass.

I used to do a 20+ hr trip on a head boat out of Brielle a few years back also..on the Jamaica....man that separated the men from the boys..
We caught some nice cod & pollock also caught some ling.....We gave the ling away to others on the boat:D

There were a couple trips that we didn't clear the inlet and we had chummers and they had 20 more hours to go:eek:......I'm guessing us eating our KFC Chicken and slamming 7oz miller nips didn't help there cause....
You know it was cold one time when they had to shovel all the snow off the deck before we could go fish....and break the ice off the heated rail.

Good luck!

what boat are you going out on? Jersey is my old stomping grounds... I used to work on the Capt. Robbins, Miss TI & the Holiday. I know what you boys mean when you talk about the pukers. Why can't you shoobies make it over the rail? Thats all I want to know.

Try working for him, as a 14/15 year old kid, it's one hell of an education... I worked on the holiday for 2-3 years as the 1-st mate. I was with Ron when he was in Sea Isle, docked right next to Neal (Capt. Robbins). If I had to put a year on it, 1985-7+/- a year. Best job I ever had.

We called Ron El-Sid. We would prop him up in the chair, set the auto pilot for Avalon Shoal & Ron would slump over for the trip. Alarm went off, he popped up & said drop em, then went to sleep till I woke him back up to re set the drift.

Our other capt's:
Capt Larry aka Chester the molester. Chester would stand on the roof in front of the radar array tring to kill his swimmers...
Capt. Herman Disco Teeth Hardwick.
Capt. John sty-balls Tighe.

Good times.

He liked his wine and other stuff. Hell one night he had me bring the boat in on the bay side. He said you can do it, just don't hit the big ferry boat.
I told him I'm only taking it up to the route 9 bridge so get off your girlFriend .

Went on the Straycat out of Ocean city. Nice deal ...only takes 15 ..$60 and a full day. I'd do it again. Caught 5 up to about 7lbs and 10 throwbacks. Perfect weather. Here's another deal. I can get spaces on the Karen Sue in Indian river (best togger in Delaware) but I need both January 24th and 25th. I can do ONE day if you do the other. Or we can do two (me and someone)one day and two the other. It's complicated but would be worth the trouble. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll try to coordinate things.
