Brian - you read my mind. I just got 3 or 4 dozen yesterday. The question is - will they work after you freeze them? What can you put with them to keep them alive the longest?

Once frozen they do not stay on the hook all that well; one little tap and they are gone. Still, they are better than not having them at all. Before you start to use them, drop them in a bucket of sea water and let them thaw, that way they will not be brittle and break apart so easily.

I used to have a similar issue using chunks of menhaden. I found that a rubber band worked well for holding the meat on the hook, even when surfcasting.

Productive way to spend a windy day!

I've got about 400 frozen and vacuum bagged. I also have about 3 dozen bluecrabs and some salted clams in the freeze.

The way the togs steal bait from me, that ought to work out to maybe 4 fish to the boat.:D

throw em in the bath tub with some wet newspaper and dry dog food. They should keep until your wife finds them!
