I am thinking about replacing the lines on my traps with something that is a little easier on the hands than locktite. Would like to use something like softlay but I have never seen softlay smaller than 1/4".

What's everybody use?

I use 20 feet of 3/8 inch yellow floating nylon line on each trap to the door lines. It is harder to rig but you have all winter to do it. I crimp figure eight stainless curtains rod hangers on each end and melt each frayed end of the line so it stays put. I have never had any malfunctions with this setup and it holds up well to the salt water. It is easier on the hands during long days of pulling and since it is bouyant it usually keeps snags and nesting to a minimum.

Right now I have #4 locktite, maybe if I go to #6 like Jerry said that would be OK.
