James, myself and crew ran Zealous out of VB early Friday morning. Landed at the 700 line to a lot of life and a good temperature break. Didn't get all the lines out before we picked up a single yft on a sterling mini purple machine splash bar. Soon after another single on the same style bar in green. Bars and witches continued to produce through the morning with a double, but mostly singles. Lost one really nice one almost boatside to a broken leader.

The bite slowed a while through mid-day, then late afternoon, we got slammed. We had green stick boats all around us including the famous or infamous Pinwheel. 7 lines went down with yellowfin, then some mahi decided to bite a couple of more. We landed all 7 yellowfin and 1 for 2 of the mahi. At this point had 14 yellowfin, 1 mahi, and a blackfin in the box. Decided to put out a heavier bigeye spread as it was getting to be late in the day. Ran that briefly and caught another yellowfin. We decided to stop fishing and cook some dinner. Grilled up some nice veggies and deer-bacon burgers. We had plans to stay overnight and do some swordfishing, but a combination of rolling in the swell and a lot of fish already onboard convinced us to putz back in in the dark.

FInal tally 15/16 yft, 1 blackfin, 1/2 mahi.

Boat makes them look small, but were 20-40lb class. Really happy the fish seem to like this boat. Not something you can pick up with a seatrial.
