I hoped to steal a good weather day before the wind howled. I was at the boat before 8 (Deale); there was light snow! Headed across the bay, where there were a few birds and a few fish but I had time to catch only a couple (fly rod) before the wind became strong enough that I decided that discretion was the better part of valor, and headed back west. It was howling by the time I got back, and although I saw some gannets on the west side, even diving once in a while, I found no fish so called it a morning. I heard a couple reports of working birds on the radio, but couldn't raise any TFers on 68. Will try again Sunday. Water temps were 49-50 on the west side and 51-52 on the east and in EBay.

Water temps are dropping fast, probably going to be an early season at the "Promised Land".
